Instagram grew out of being a fun app for teenagers from the beginning and has become a serious tool for content marketing, sales, networking and targeting for individuals and brands. It is one of the most popular social networking sites in the world, with over 200 million active monthly members sharing 60 million pictures and 1.6 billion likes a day.
But how good is Instagram? Brand engagement rates on most social networks are below 0.1%, but Instagram tops everything in this regard
1. Cross promotion for your hashtags
It’s nice that you’ve created a #juliasbeauty hashtag for your business, but who knows how to use it to share content about you? Make sure it’s on your profile, but also share it offline and have it printed on your receipts, in print ads, on signs in your store, and at relevant events.
When you’re on the radio and on TV, tell people to use your hashtag. Integrate online and offline campaigns by making sure they’re listed in your other social profiles, on your website, and in your email campaigns. Don’t just hope people will find it, make sure your hashtag is found!
2. Get creative with hashtags
When it comes to ideas for captions on Instagram, you have to look beyond the one-word hashtag, the obvious hashtags. Sure, you want to use these too, but mix them up and use hashtags to tell part of your story
3. Participate in popular conversations
Use a mix of currently relevant hashtags for each post, such as #painting for an artist, and trendy, super popular hashtags wherever you can.
#fun attracts a large audience attentive. You need both to make it on a social network as big and popular as Instagram.
4. Make the best of organic
It is a first class platform in your Instagram profile. Do you really want your bio to only be linked to your homepage now and forever? Change it at least every two weeks and use this clickable link in your bio to drive traffic to your latest or most popular content.
5. Get creative with captions
A picture says more than a thousand words, but the words cannot be left out entirely! National Geographic is fantastic at telling stories alongside their Instagram photos to generate engagement and exchange. While traditional media brands have neglected social media marketing, Nat Geo has spread across the digital world and has become one of Instagram’s top brands with over 50 million followers.

6. Influencer marketing
